Ductless Mini Splits

What are Ductless Mini Splits?

Ductless heating and cooling units or HVAC systems, also known as ductless mini split air conditioners are heating and cooling systems that allow you to control the temperatures in individual rooms. Having mini split units in each air-conditioned room allows you to better control the temperature of each room in your home. Rooms that aren’t being used regularly can be turned off to save energy. Rooms that get pretty warm can have the temperature adjusted to be more comfortable. The room-by-room control that ductless mini splits allow for lower energy costs better than a whole-home air conditioning system.

These units are also quieter, more energy efficient and more adaptable than traditional systems. Additionally, ductless A/C units are pretty quick and easy to install. At Sakin Home, our contractors only install name-brand systems you can trust, including Mitsubishi, Fujitsu, Daikin and Mr Cool. Benefits

Mini split Installation is quick and easy! In most homes, mini-split systems are MUCH easier to install than a traditional central HVAC system, which is a major undertaking. Separate systems for your mini split ac can be fitted on a room-by-room basis, and each unit can generally be installed in a day. Because mini-split systems use such small holes, there’s rarely any need to rebuild walls or repair plasterwork.

Mini Split AC and heat pumps are a true, room-by-room heating and cooling solution, so you have temperature-controlled zones within your home by targeting specific rooms. Do any members of your family like their room hotter or colder? Not a problem with mini splits. Regular heating and cooling systems distribute the same temperature throughout the zone. Because the split ac unit/heat pumps are installed independently, users are free to adjust the temperature however they want.

Mini split ac units offer more flexible interior design options. Each unit is small, measuring about 24” h x 29” w x 8.5” d, and it can be painted to match your walls. Indoor air handlers can also be suspended from a ceiling, and floor units are also an option. And unlike window air conditioners, you can open your windows in the summer for fresh air.

Mini split systems cost less. Ductless air conditioner systems are generally more energy efficient than regular HVAC systems for several reasons.

Mini split systems may be eligible for a tax credit and rebate. Because they transfer instead of generate heat, ENERGY STAR certified ductless mini-split heat pumps use 60% less energy than standard home electric resistance-based heating systems. In many circumstances, homeowners and businesses may be eligible for utility rebates and tax credits if they use ductless systems. Both state and local governments provide incentives for businesses and homeowners to go green. (We can paint the mini split to match your wall color, but keep in mind that painting the head would void the warranty.)

Ductless air conditioner systems improve air quality. Owners have found that having traditional HVAC systems cleaned out regularly was a major hassle. In addition, old ducted systems didn’t prevent pollution from coming in from outside. They blew in bacteria, pollen, allergens, and pollution from vehicle exhausts. Worse still, many of these contaminants remained, even after regular cleaning. Modern, ductless mini split units now come with sophisticated filtration cartridges which can be easily washed or replaced and don’t require regular maintenance. These multi-stage filtration systems help to eliminate the vast majority of problematic airborne particles from getting into your home.

Mini-split systems offer higher security. These systems only require a small hole in the wall, where window mounted room units are an easy entrance for intruders.

Ductless air conditioning and heating systems are easy to control. It’s as simple as using the remote control to set the temperature in each room.
